These pictures are from my trip from Amsterdam, New York, to Center Valley, Pennsylvania, and back to attend the CCSC Eastern 2022 conference at DeSales University. Pictures are from my Panasonic Lumix FZ80 and my iPad camera.
Thursday, October 20 - Amsterdam, New York, to PLACE I STAYED, Pennsylvania
No Fall 2022 classes on Thursdays, so I was able to take an interesting route to the Allentown/Bethlehem area. I got on the road late morning, took some of Route 7 instead of I-88, and stopped at the Cobleskill Diner for lunch. My route from there was New York 10 to Walton, New York 206 to Downsville, and New York 30 to its end in East Branch. Just before that, I took a quick break and took a few pictures at the Thayer Hollow Fishing Access Site [4 Pictures]. At the south end of Route 30, I got onto New York 17 to fill in my last gap on that route, between there and Hancock. At Hancock, I grabbed some snacks at a convenience store, then crossed into Pennsylvania. CHECK TM FORUM FOR SOME INFO. My route through rural northeastern Pennsylvania was a bit slow at times, but very scenic and much of it along roads I'd never traveled before. I made it by late afternoon to the Bethlehem area, and checked in at the Homewood Suites in Center Valley [4 Pictures]. My room was huge, not sure how I qualified for that at the regular conference rate, but no complaints. I went back out to get some dinner from the nearby Chick-fil-A (?). Friday, October 21 - First Day of CCSC Eastern
The hotel room had a nice view of the area in the morning [4 Pictures]. The conference started in the afternoon, so I took a few hours in the morning to do a remote session for my Operating Systems class from the hotel. I got lunch at X Mexican in X on my way to DeSales [3 Pictures] for the conference. I arrived for the start of the sessions (WHEN WERE MINE?) and had a productive first day. The day ended with the conference dinner and plenary with musical entertainment by Haverford's JD Dougherty [Picture]. [2 Roads Pictures]
Saturday, October 22 - Second Day of CCSC Eastern and Ride Home
I spent the morning at the conference which concluded with lunch. On the way back, I took another different route. I started along the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River to Portland, where I crossed into New Jersey. I made a gas stop just across into New Jersey, then took New Jersey 94 north all the way into New York, where it continues as New York 94. Though that part of New York, it was New York 94, New York 17A, New York 207, New York 747, before I got onto I-84, then the Thruway the rest of the way. [72 Pictures from the Roads]
