This trip to the Pittsburgh area was centered around a birthday celebration and included a Pirates game. Details in the individual picture sets linked below. Pictures are mostly from my Panasonic Lumix FZ80, with some from my iPad, and Cathy's iPhone.
Thursday, September 22 - Amsterdam, New York, to Butler, Pennsylvania
We got on our way after work and school, west across New York to a dinner stop for wings at Duff's in Williamsville [Picture], then continuing on for a night in Butler, Pennsylvania. [5 Pictures from the Roads]
Friday, September 23 - Butler, Pennsylvania, to Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania
We took our time in the morning, then made our way down to Cranberry Township where our group was gathering. We got lunch a little south in Wexford, split between a Chipotle and the Forgotten Taste Pierogies restaurant [Picture]. We got ourselves checked in at the DoubleTree hotel [3 Pictures], and headed out later to the evening reception at the Cadence+ Clubhouse near North Park [15 Pictures]. [3 Pictures from the Roads]
Saturday, September 24 - Pittsburgh Area
The main events for the weekend were on this very nice day in the Pittsburgh area. We gathered for a picnic, games, conversations, a great BBQ lunch, and cake in North Park for much of the afternoon [12 Pictures]. Then it was back to the hotel [Picture][People Picture] to get ready for baseball before we went down into Pittsburgh for a Pirates game. When we arrived and parked, we had a little time to walk along the riverfront before the game [4 Pictures][5 People Pictures]. Our guest of honor was a Fan of the Game and got to go on the field to be recognized before the game [20 Pictures, 1 Movie], so we made sure to be in early. We were worried it might be a chilly night for the game, but it ended up being very pleasant to watch the Cubs beat the Pirates [5 Pictures]. Later in the evening, much of the group gathered for snacks, drinks, and more conversations in the hotel lobby [4 Pictures]. [10 Pictures from the Roads]
Sunday, September 25 - Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, to Amsterdam, New York
We checked out of the DoubleTree in the morning [Bobblehead Picture]. Our group gathered one more time for brunch back at Cadence+ [5 Pictures], then everyone headed their own ways. We took a somewhat slower but more direct route up through western Pennsylvania and into the southern tier of New York. Our dinner stop was for pizza at a small place in Hornell [Picture].
