Savannah for SIAM PP12 - February 15-18, 2012
These pictures were taken with my Fujifilm Finepix S9000 digital
camera on a trip to Savannah, Georgia, for
the SIAM Parallel Processing
conference from February 15 through 18, 2012. Images are shown at
a resolution of 640x480, but many are available cropped from the
originals or in half of original size by clicking on the links after
the captions.

No pictures, but the day consisted of teaching classes, a quick ride
to Albany airport for flights to Baltimore and on to Jacksonville,
Florida. After a Zaxby's dinner right before they closed, it was a
late-night ride north to Savannah.

First day of the conference, and my talk day. My pictures from the
day are from the ride to the conference (at the Savannah waterfront)
from the hotel (in Pooler just off I-95) [2
Pictures] and from the waterfront area during lunch (which
consisted of a trip to an excellent lunch buffet at Lady and Sons) and
other conference breaks [11 Pictures].

Much of the day was spent at the conference, but I did take a few
hours to do some exploring (OK, clinching a county and some highway
segments) [54 Pictures].
Friday, February 17, 2012
Cathy, Katie, and Martha arrived in the morning from their overnight
drive from home and moved into the hotel room for a rest. Pictures
from the day are from a walk around the waterfront area during a
morning conference break [15 Pictures].
The others came into town for lunch, where we were joined by Karen
D. and Bill M. Dinner was back at the hotel later, takeout from the
Smokin Pig BBQ.

This day's task: get to Naples, Florida. So a morning ride to
Jacksonville to drop off the rental car, then on to Naples along a
very familiar route. [2 Pictures].
