Silver Gate Rock Formations - August 6, 2022

These pictures were taken with my Panasonic Lumix FZ80 at the one-way loop at Silver Gate just south of Mammoth in Yellowstone National Park on August 6, 2022. Images are shown at a resolution of 800x600. Larger image formats are available by clicking the links below each image.

We pulled into this one-way loop south of Mammoth at the Silver Gate, which is apparently the result of an avalanche that broke up some very old terraces of the Mammoth Hot Springs. [Larger: 2448x1836]
