Dallas for SIGCSE - March 9-14, 2011
These pictures were taken with my Fujifilm Finepix S9000 digital
camera on a trip to the ACM SIGCSE conference in Dallas, Texas, from
March 9 through March 14, 2011. Images are shown at a resolution of
640x480, but many are available cropped from the originals or in half
of original size by clicking on the links after the captions.
Most of the time was spent at the conference -- the pages below are
primarily scenes from the roads on a couple of rides after the
conference ended.
Friday, March 11
Just a few pictures from the ride from the hotel to the
conference in Dallas.
Saturday, March 12
After the last day at the conference, I took a bit of a ride, first
through downtown Dallas [4 Pictures],
then over toward (and literally around) Fort
Worth [43 Pictures], through downtown Fort
Worth [6 Pictures], and back to
Dallas [14 Pictures].
Sunday, March 13
This was my free day, so of course I went for a ride to go places I've
never been. I started on I-35E and I-35 north through
Texas [66 Pictures] to Oklahoma. Once
there, I continued up I-35 [18 Pictures]
until a short detour into Davis [5
Pictures]. Then back onto I-35 with a lunch stop in
Norman [4 Pictures] before taking a
driving tour of the Oklahoma City area's
freeways [20 Pictures]. After that, it was
back along I-44 [30 Pictures] and into
Texas [7 Pictures]. I took a short detour
through Wichita Falls and found "the falls", a manmade waterfall in
Lucy Park [31 Pictures]. The route back to
D/FW went through Jacksboro for something different, as I'd been on
287 before [47 Pictures].
