On the Roads on Thanksgiving - November 24, 2005

These pictures were taken with my Olympus C730 Ultra Zoom digital camera on a ride from Williamstown, Massachusetts, to West Springfield, Massachusetts, then on to Amsterdam, New York, on Thanksgiving Day, 2005. Snow continues as we go down into the Cold River valley. The one-way section ahead is to repair a washout from an October rainstorm. [2048x1536]

The Berkshire Spur connection between B1 (where I-90 heads up to Albany) and I-87 and the mainline Thruway is signed like this. [2048x1536]

Between Exits 25A and 26, we hit a wall of lake-effect snow. [2048x1536]

By the time we got off Exit 26, the visibility was very poor and the roads were a mess. [2048x1536]

The snow let up by the time we got to Amsterdam. [2048x1536]
