1999 ALDS Game 2

These pictures were taken with my Sony Mavica FD-7 digital camera at Yankee Stadium on October 8, 1999. The game is the second of the 1999 American League Division Series between the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees. All images are 24-bit JPEGs and should be viewed on a 24-bit display. Quality is likely to be very poor when viewed on an 8-bit display.

The car in the parking garage before the game.

At the seats before the game in the left field bleachers.

Snoopy out in left, just behind us.

This is Monument Park just in front of us.

The Texas Rangers take BP.

The flagpole from the other side.

Not looking good for those Red Sox.

The Stadium continues to fill.

Andy Pettitte warming up before the game.

A clearer view of Pettitte's warmups.

Don Mattingly tosses out the first pitch.

Ready to start.

The Yankees take the field.

Bernie Williams.

Pettitte.

Paul O'Neill and Bernie Williams.

Pettitte pitching a great game.

The bleachers are packed.

In both directions.

Fox is here, so there is a microphone attached to the foul pole.

Seventh inning stretch.

Tino Martinez walks in the bottom of the 7th.

Chili Davis batting.

Davis again.

Happy people in the upper deck after Ricky Ledee's RBI double chased Rick Helling.

Andy Pettitte leaves to a standing ovation in the 8th.

Jeff Nelson on in relief.

Chuck Knoblauch batting in the 8th.

This seems to be Paul O'Neill.

Pinch hitter Jim Leyritz.

Leyritz takes ball four to force home the 3rd Yankee run.

Now we know it's over - Mariano Rivera is on his way in.

Mr. Automatic.

Three outs away.

Tom Goodwin striking out against Rivera.

And the Yankees win.

Here comes the NYPD.

2-0 lead heading down to Texas.

The Yankees leave the field.

The horses are coming too.

The crowd files out to the sounds of "New York, New York".

The mess left behind in the bleachers.
