Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod, August 29, 2001

These pictures were taken with my Olympus C2100-UZ digital camera while driving around Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod on August 29, 2001. All images are 24-bit JPEGs and should be viewed on a 24-bit display. Quality is likely to be very poor when viewed on an 8-bit display. Most images are shown at a resolution of 640x480, but are available in 800x600 and full 1600x1200 sizes by clicking on the links after the captions.

This one's still in Western Massachusetts, where I am about to turn left to go both North and South. [800x600][1600x1200]

And there's the proof. This is near Ashfield, Massachusetts. [800x600][1600x1200]

Now in Eastern Massachusetts, at the Southern terminus of I-495, where it becomes Massachusetts 25. [800x600][1600x1200]

In Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. [800x600][1600x1200]

The rotary on the mainland side of the Bourne Bridge. [800x600][1600x1200]

On the ramp to the Bourne Bridge. [800x600][1600x1200]

The Bourne Bridge. Crossing the Cape Cod Canal. [800x600][1600x1200]

Looking at an old railroad bridge at Buzzards Bay. [800x600][1600x1200]

Another view. [800x600][1600x1200]

On Massachusetts 6A, approaching the Cape side of the Sagamore Bridge. [800x600][1600x1200]

And now on US 6 East. They sure have some big US 6 signs on Cape Cod. [800x600][1600x1200]

A small road in the Cape Cod National Seashore. [800x600][1600x1200]

Nauset Light in Eastham, Massachusetts. [800x600][1600x1200]

The Atlantic Ocean. [800x600][1600x1200]

This particular beach (Nauset Light Beach) has a very large cliff. The parking area and facilities are at the top of this cliff, and beach access is by a long stairway. [800x600][1600x1200]

It's late afternoon, so there are long shadows being cast. [800x600][1600x1200]

The lighthouse again. [800x600][1600x1200]

And again. [800x600][1600x1200]

And again. [800x600][1600x1200]
