CCSC Eastern Trip - October 23-25, 2025

Thursday, October 23 - Amsterdam, New York, to Fort Washington, Pennsylvania

No Fall 2025 classes on Thursdays, so I was able to take a slightly more interesting route to the Philadelphia area. I got on the road mid afternoon, took the Thruway and I-287 to I-78 across to Easton. From there it was mostly down Pennsylvania 611. I got a very tasty cheesesteak [Picture] at the Lee's Hoagie House in Horsham, then continued to Fort Washington to check into my hotel. [23 Pictures from the Roads]

Friday, October 24 - First Day of CCSC Eastern

It was a sunny morning out my hotel window in Fort Washington [2 Pictures], where I stuck around for a good chunk of the morning to hold my Operating Systems class online. After that, I had a little time to check out just a little bit of the area [6 Pictures from the Roads] and to find a Raising Cane's for lunch before heading to Arcadia for the conference [6 Pictures], where I spent the rest of the day and into the evening. The conference provided dinner (and a CS magic show! [Picture]) but I still took a short detour afterward to get a milkshake from a nearby Chick-fil-A before returning to the hotel for the night.

Saturday, October 25 - Second Day of CCSC Eastern and Ride Home

I spent the morning at the conference but got on the road before the closing lunch. On the way back, I took a route that was mostly new to me from the Philadelphia area up to Scranton. This was Route 309 all the way from Glenside to I-80 north of Hazleton, then I-81 with a small side trip around Harford, the I-86/New York 79 eastern route to bypass Binghamton, then I-88. My timing was perfec to pick up some Brooks BBQ takeout in Oneonta to eat when I got home around 7:30. [32 Pictures from the Roads]
