Florida Trip - March 28 - April 6, 2024

Thursday, March 28 - Amsterdam, New York, to I-95 in Virginia

It was an after-school departure, with the highlights being a big red caution tape catching on our van on I-78 [4 Pictures], dinner from Chick-fil-A and Chipotle in Flemington, and a pretty spectacular sunset along I-95 in Philadelphia [7 Pictures]. We were in Virginia, near Richmond, when the clock struck midnight.

Friday, March 29 - I-95 in Virginia to Bonita Springs, Florida

Travel through the night, with the obligatory 4:30 AM stop at the busy Florence Buc-ees [Picture]. Breakfast from a Starbucks in Georgia, lunch at a pizza place in Wesley Chapel, and arrival at the rental house in Bonita around 4:30. We visited the beach for sunset later [3 Pictures].

Saturday, March 30 - Bonita Beach, Florida

Full day in Bonita: beach, relaxing, sunset. [7 Pictures][13 People Pictures]

Sunday, March 31 - Bonita Beach, Florida

Easter Mass in the morning, a boat ride all afternoon, ice cream to finish off the day. [3 Pictures][3 People Pictures, Movie]

Monday, April 1 - Bonita Beach and Immokalee, Florida

Morning at the beach, a work day for me at the house while others went to pet some goats, then some time at the beach again later. [16 Pictures, 1 Movie]

Tuesday, April 2 - Bonita Beach, Florida / Bonita Beach, Florida, to Amsterdam, New York via BWI

I had an early morning flight back home to teach some classes and labs [5 Pictures], everyone else had another day in Bonita [Picture].

Wednesday, April 3 - Bonita Beach, Florida

Fishing, kayaking, beach, tacos, and mini golf [30 Pictures]

Thursday, April 4 - Bonita Beach, Florida

Friday, April 5 - Saturday, April 6 - Bonita Beach, Florida, and Amsterdam, New York, to Amsterdam, New York, via MCO Airport

I flew to MCO after teaching class on Friday morning, where I was picked up to help drive on the ride home. The ride featured a new to us, and very busy Buc-ees in Daytona Beach for dinner, and a gas stop at our usual Buc-ees in Florence at 1 AM. Add in a Chick-fil-A breakfast in Maryland and a Chipotle lunch in New Jersey, and a 4 PM arrival back home [6 Pictures].
