Leaving Albuquerque on I-40 East. [2048x1536]

Just east of Albuquerque on I-40 East. [2048x1536]

Approaching Moriarty, New Mexico, on I-40 East. [2048x1536]

Now on to Santa Rosa, where I leave I-40 behind. [2048x1536]

Getting off here. [2048x1536]

Business Loop I-40 in Santa Rosa is also the historic route of US 66. [2048x1536]

US 54 South goes over there. [2048x1536]

It's US 54 and US 84 here in Santa Rosa, as well as Business Loop I-40. [2048x1536]

They can't seem to make up their mind about which direction US 54 and US 84 go. This is leaving Santa Rosa. [2048x1536]

There is a windmill farm southeast of Santa Rosa on US 84. [2048x1536]

Arrival in Fort Sumner, New Mexico. [2048x1536]

And now we're on US 60 also. [2048x1536]

Take that over to Texico, the town on the New Mexico-Texas border. [2048x1536]

US 70 is here, too. [2048x1536]

And all three share some pavement. [2048x1536]

One more New Mexico highway with a number I hadn't taken before. [2048x1536]

US 60 splits off toward Amarillo. [2048x1536]

..just before the Texas line. [2048x1536]

A mile or two later, Texas finally says "welcome". [2048x1536]

A Texas farm road with a big number. [2048x1536]

Cows. [2048x1536]

Crossing US 385 on US 84. [2048x1536]

The state slogan seems to apply to litter. [2048x1536]

Cotton! [2048x1536]

On Loop 289 around Lubbock. [2048x1536]

There's I-27 and US 87. [2048x1536]

Getting onto I-27 and US 87 South into Lubbock. [2048x1536]

Passing US 62, seen earlier this year in both Niagara Falls and El Paso. [2048x1536]

On I-27 near its southern terminus. [2048x1536]

This was the last mention of I-27 that I saw. [2048x1536]

I passed Loop 289 to look for some lunch, but ended up turning around to see the start of I-27 North. [2048x1536]

I ended up having lunch a little way down the road in Slaton. But not at this bakery; I ate at Sonic. [2048x1536]

More cotton. [2048x1536]

Another interesting Farm Road number, with some oil wells running in the background. [2048x1536]

Oil well and cotton. [2048x1536]

3 kinds of routes go left here, in Post, Texas. [2048x1536]

On to the Snyder area. [2048x1536]

Crossing US 180, last seen in El Paso. [2048x1536]

Arrival at I-20, on US 84 East. [2048x1536]

Getting onto I-20. The US 87 shield fell off. [2048x1536]

On I-20 East. [2048x1536]

Crossing US 283 on I-20. They have an Albany here. [2048x1536]

Attempt to take a night picture. [2048x1536]

Another night attempt. [2048x1536]

Pretty badly blurred picture at the I-20/I-30 split west of Fort Worth. [2048x1536]
