Garden Progress - August 28, 2009

These pictures were taken with my Fujifilm Finepix S9000 digital camera in the back yard of our house in Amsterdam on August 28, 2009. Images are shown at a resolution of 640x480, but many are available in half of original size by clicking on the links after the captions.

The garden has had a tough summer, but it's still produced some for us. [Larger: 1744x1308]

The lettuce has been very successful. The peppers seen here are all we've had so far. [Larger: 1744x1308]

We've gotten some cucumbers. [Larger: 1744x1308]

The squash was great early on, but faded in August. [Larger: 1744x1308]

The best tomato plant is the cherry tomato plant. [Larger: 1744x1308]

This one has produced one red tomato so far and is pretty well ravaged by blight. [Larger: 1744x1308]

We've gotten about 5 yellow tomatoes from this plant. [Larger: 1744x1308]

The excellent lettuce plants. [Larger: 1744x1308]

The beans have been good as well, but with just 2 plants it doesn't amount to much. [Larger: 1744x1308]

And the strawberries have taken hold and should be ready for a better year next spring. [Larger: 1744x1308]

Finally - the cucumber that grew right through (and around part of) the fencing. [Larger: 1744x1308]
