These pictures were taken with my Pixel 6a at Killington Mountain in
Vermont on May 8, 2026.
I finally made it back up for another day on the Killington Spring
Pass. The Friday forecast looked nice all week then took a turn
toward colder with more clouds and a chance of showers but I decided
to go for it anyway. It was my reward for getting through a pile of
final exams and other grading over the last few days. It was a good
decision. The weather turned out to be mostly cloudy with flurries,
and some nice breaks of sun. I arrived at 11, which meant things
were already getting bumpy on Superstar, now the only non terrain
park option. Not ideal for my first run in 4 weeks. But I got my ski
legs back, got more used to the deep piles of loose granular, and
made 6 runs (which were more than enough). It never really got warm
enough to be slushy other than on the run out to the lift. By the
end, I was fighting the snow and decided to call it a day before
getting hurt. I was also having trouble enjoying being on a crowded
trail with such a mix of people. Many were taking their time like me
and others who seemed to think they were the only ones out there,
and definitely weren't giving a safe amount of space especially
given their speed. Still, I'm glad I went and if that's it for my
entire season and the spring pass purchase, I'm very satisfied with
both.
There are also some pictures from the roads on
the ride back.
