Real Millennium Trip - Jockey's Ridge, December 29, 2000



We've arrived at Jockey's Ridge - the big old sand dune.

And there it is. It's usually a lot more crowded during the summer.

It's a big sand dune.

Lots of blowing sand.

You can see back out to the beach area from here.

And you can see the sound.

More blowing sand.

Amitha and Rob on Jockey's Ridge.

This is an attempt to show that the sand is blowing around. I bet you still can't tell.

Another try. It's like drifting snow, both because it looks like it and it's cold enough that it could be snow.

Amitha has conquered Jockey's Ridge.
