Roads near Savannah and Amelia Island - December 22, 2011
These pictures were taken with my Fujifilm Finepix S9000 digital
camera on the roads in southern South Carolina and the Savannah,
Georgia, area, then in the Amelia Island, Florida, area, on December
22, 2011. Images are shown at a resolution of 640x480, but many are
available cropped from the originals or in half of original size by
clicking on the links after the captions.
Leaving I-95 for a bit to take US 17 into Savannah.
Through the marshland as we approach Georgia.
Into Georgia on US 17.
From here, it's mainly I-16 back to I-95.
Returning from our lunch stop near Brunswick, Georgia.
Now ahead to Yulee, Florida, from where we'll head east to Amelia Island.
Crossing onto the island.
Now, Fernandina Beach.
Here's the northernmost point of A1A as a coastal route.
Missed this one, unfortunately. It says "Canopy Road".
Leaving the island.
Driving through Little Talbot Island State Park.
A1A crosses a ferry here, but we'll go back west to the main highways.
At 9A, which should be I-295 some time soon.
One more crossing of US 17 for the day. From here, we left I-295 on
FL 21 to get to Ocala for the night.
