Skiing Snow Ridge - February 2, 2023

These pictures were taken with my Motorola moto g6 phone and my iPad at Snow Ridge ski area in Turin, New York, on February 2, 2023. I used an Indy Pass redemption for the day's lift ticket. From my posting to NYSkiBlog about the day: I used my first Snow Ridge Indy Pass day today. It was my second visit overall, first this season. Only the middle part of the mountain was open, between South Park and Silver Glades. Not surprisingly, it was pretty quiet when I arrived at around 10:15. It picked up a little after lunch time but really not much. The surfaces were nice, with the groomed terrain a mix of frozen granular, packed powder, and some fresh machine made snow being pumped out (mainly on North Slope). There was about 2" of fluff off the groomed areas. It was hard pack/rutted/chunky underneath in higher traffic areas but still worth skiing it. There were some really great patches in the trees and off on the sides, especially skiers right on South Park. There was still some untracked deeper stuff from last week's snow (and still with some crust between that and the fluff on top). The pick of the day was Silver Glade. Both Johannsen (and terrain beyond) to the north and Kuersteiner to the south were listed as open on the snow report but clearly roped off. I took a total of 22 runs, 11 each before and after lunch
