Spring in and around Williamstown - April and May, 2002
These pictures were taken with my Olympus C2100-Z digital camera in
and near Williamstown, Massachusetts, in the Spring of 2002.
All images are 24-bit JPEGs and should be viewed on a 24-bit display.
Quality is likely to be very poor when viewed on an 8-bit display.
Most images are shown at a resolution of 640x480, but are available
in 800x600 and full 1600x1200 sizes by clicking on the links after
the captions.
The pictures were taken to show the wide variety of weather we
experienced. After a mild and dry winter, we had 90-degree weather in
mid-April, followed by a late-April snowfall, then a lot of rain, then
a mid-May snowfall.
- April 20 -- the heat wave. Temperatures
in the 90's.
- April 23 -- winter returns, snow!
- April 27 -- still some snow in the hills.
- May 16 -- the snow is long gone, but the
tops of the hills still have some bare trees.
- May 18 -- record-breaking snowfall!
- May 19 -- the remains of the snow.
