Arches National Park, Utah - April 30, 2004
Devils Garden Trail is well worth the time and effort. And on this
cool and damp day, staying warm was more important than keeping cool
and hydrated.
[2048x1536]
The start of the trail.
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
Sand accumulating between two large "fins".
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
Tunnel Arch.
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
There are actually two arches at Tunnel Arch.
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
One last view of Tunnel Arch.
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
On toward Pine Tree Arch.
[2048x1536]
There it is.
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
There's a pine tree in it.
[2048x1536]
View through Pine Tree Arch.
[2048x1536]
Continuing on toward Landscape Arch.
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
Made it.
[2048x1536]
A big piece fell off several years ago, and someone was lucky enough to be there to photograph it. Amazing.
[2048x1536]
There it is.
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
Mini canyon from the recent rains.
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
The part of Landscape Arch that fell off in 1991.
[2048x1536]
The rubble from that fall.
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
About as close as the trail goes since the collapse.
[2048x1536]
Continuing.
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
..to Wall Arch.
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
Apparently people like to put rocks on these "shelves" by Wall Arch.
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
[2048x1536]
Another view of Landscape Arch on the walk back.
