Twins Baseball Trip - July 28-August 2, 2010
These pictures were taken with my Fujifilm Finepix S9000 digital
camera on a trip to see a game at the the new Target Field in
Minneapolis and a couple minor league games in the Upper Midwest, from
July 28 through August 2, 2010. 3 baseball games and 1350 miles over
4 days. Images are shown at a resolution of 640x480, but many are
available cropped from the originals or in half of original size by

Weather delays in Fort Myers and Orlando made arrival into Milwaukee
later than expected, but the flight made it, Darren was at the airport
waiting, and the trip began.

We left Milwaukee in the morning, heading for Burlington, Iowa. Along
the way, we had a chance to look around Moline and Rock Island,
Illinois, at lunch time [17
Pictures]. After lunch, we passed through Galesburg, Illinois,
[3 Pictures] and across the
Mississippi River [4 Pictures] to
Burlington, Iowa. After checking into the hotel, we made a quick
visit to see the riverfront in
Burlington [23 Pictures], where the
river was above flood stage after recent heavy rains. Finally, we
went to Community Field, where we saw the Burlington Bees host the
Beloit Snappers in a Midwest League game [20
Pictures]. [74 Pictures from the roads].

This was the longest travel day, and with a hard deadline to get to
the Twins game. We started in Burlington and drove up through eastern
Iowa then up into Minnesota. A couple of places earned some pictures:
Center Point, Iowa, where we met Luis for
lunch [2 Pictures], Shell Rock,
Iowa [2 Pictures], Osage,
Iowa [5 Pictures], St. Ansgar,
Iowa [3 Pictures], and Lyle,
Minnesota [4 Pictures]. After checking
into the hotel near Bloomington, it was up into downtown Minneapolis
for my first game at Target Field [21 Pictures].

This was Twins backup day in case of rainout, so there was no baseball
on the schedule. We had time in the morning to take our time getting
ready, then stopped for lunch at the Mall of America. From there, it
was on across Wisconsin to Green Bay. We stopped to check out Lambeau
Field [13 Pictures] before checking into
the hotel and getting dinner.

Not as much travel planned on this day, starting in Green Bay, with an
afternoon baseball game in Appleton, then on to Milwaukee for the
night. In the morning, we drove up through Green
Bay [1 Picture] and out to Sturgeon
Bay [9 Pictures] and
Algoma [10 Pictures]. We came back
through Green Bay [2 Pictures] and on to
Appleton for a Wisconsin Timber Rattlers
game [30 Pictures]. After the game, it was
on to Milwaukee, passing a bit of the big air show in Oshkosh on US 41
[2 Pictures]. In Milwaukee, we just
checked into the hotel, got some dinner at a Perkins that was
overwhelmed by even a small number of customers, and then prepared for
the early morning trip to the airport.

No pictures from this travel day. It was a very early morning to get
to the airport for a 6:10 AM flight. But no problems on the flights
to BWI and on to RSW.
