Yes, the sun is still set, but it's not that dark yet. These cirrus
clouds would be off to our south and west for as long as it was light
enough to see them. They kind of looked like a distant thunderstorm.
There were some flashes of lightning out there. When we finally got
in for the night, the weather channel showed that these clouds were
the blown-off top of a supercell thunderstorm well over 100 miles away
in Nebraska. It sure is flat in this part of the country.
